Rental Car Damage Protector offers primary coverage on a daily basis or you can purchase the Annual Basic travel insurance plan which includes Rental Car Damage Protector as a benefit. If the rental car is damaged in a collision, vandalized, stolen or damaged by a severe weather event, you will have primary coverage, up to the benefit limit, with no deductible. Depending on plan chosen and state of residence, your plan may also include additional benefits like Travel Accident Coverage, Baggage Coverage and Trip Interruption. Rental period cannot exceed 45 consecutive days.

Coverage starts when you pick up your rental car and ends when your return it; provided you have purchased your policy for the dates of your rental.

If you are not completely satisfied, you have 10 days (or more, depending on your state of residence) to request a refund, provided you haven't started your trip or initiated a claim. Premiums are non-refundable after this period.

If the rental car is stolen or damaged during the scheduled rental period and while on your trip, Allianz Global Assistance will pay you the lesser of the following, up to the maximum benefit listed for Rental Car Damage and Theft Coverage on your Declarations:
1) The reasonable and customary costs to repair the rental car, including reasonable charges for loss of use imposed by the owner of the rental car while the rental car is being repaired; or
2) The actual cash value of the rental car, less its reasonable salvage value.
